W. Jackson Parham, Jr., CFA

Founding Partner, Chief Investment Officer

Jack Parham is a Founding Partner and the Chief Investment Officer for Eton Advisors, bringing more than 25 years of industry experience and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation to his leadership of the firm’s investment group. As an early pioneer of Goals-Based Investing, Jack has dedicated his career to reshaping how families approach wealth management. He leads the development and application of Eton’s proprietary Goals-Based Allocation framework, a model designed to maximize the probability of achieving a family’s specific financial objectives. Jack works closely with clients to help them define and prioritize their goals, ensuring that portfolio construction accounts for both rigorous quantitative analysis and the personal, behavioral preferences unique to each family. He also oversees the firm’s perspective on macroeconomic and geopolitical events, specifically how they influence risk and returns for the families Eton serves.

Beyond his leadership at Eton, Jack is deeply involved in education and community service. For more than a decade, he has served as a Professor of the Practice at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, leading a graduate-level course in Private Wealth Management and mentoring future industry leaders. He is also a devoted supporter of various arts and educational organizations and is active in his church and several community ministries.

Outside of his professional work, Jack enjoys the outdoors, particularly fishing, hiking, and shooting sports. He also enjoys classical music and reading books on military history. Above all, he cherishes the time he spends playing with his two grandsons.
