
John C. Wallace, CFA
John Wallace serves as Senior Investment Officer and Chair of the Investment Committee at Eton Advisors. In this role, John acts as the primary investment partner for the majority of the firm’s multi-generational client families, specializing in the design and implementation of portfolios that reflect their values and long-term goals. As Chair of the Investment Committee, John leads the firm’s strategy across public and private markets, with a particular focus on private investments, and works to take complex financial situations and turn them into thoughtful, straightforward strategies that provide families with perspective and discipline.
John is deeply committed to both the investment profession and his local community. In the community he has served in leadership roles at his church and on his neighborhood’s homeowners association. His leadership extends to the non-profit sector where he has served as a member of the Board of the Better Business Bureau Educational Foundation of Eastern Carolinas. Within the industry, John has served on several Limited Partner Advisory Committees and has contributed to the mentorship of future investment professionals by both serving on the Applied Investment Management Board and co-teaches a graduate-level course in Private Wealth Management at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, mentoring future industry leaders. He and his family also provide ongoing support to various charitable organizations, including Breakthrough T1D and the UNC Health Foundation.
Outside of the office, John prioritizes spending time with his friends and family and staying involved in his children’s various sports and school activities. He enjoys golf and listening to orchestral film scores. A dedicated sports fan, he and his family enjoy attending games together and following UNC athletics throughout the year.
